VenueVue Lx Lighting Bridge
Standalone control. Open integration. VenueVue CS ready.
The VenueVue Lx Lighting Bridge family brings IEC 62386 lighting systems onto the network for browser-based commissioning and control, direct third-party integration, or unified operation through the VenueVue CS platform.
From house lights and foyer lighting to stage wash, back-of-house and architectural features, VenueVue Lx provides a flexible bridge between your control system and supported lighting drivers.
Use it your way
Standalone
Commission, configure, control and diagnose the lighting system directly through the bridge’s built-in browser interface. VenueVue CS is not required.
Direct API integration
Connect your own control system directly through the built-in REST or WebSocket API. The bridge converts supported API commands into IEC 62386 commands for the connected lighting control gear.
VenueVue CS
Add the bridge to VenueVue CS to control lighting alongside video, audio and other venue systems, with scenes, schedules, operator interfaces, automation and central monitoring.
Powered and connected by PoE
A single PoE Ethernet connection provides network connectivity and power for the bridge itself, simplifying installation in comms rooms, control racks and distributed equipment locations.
Each IEC 62386 lighting bus requires its own field wiring and a compliant external bus power supply. PoE powers the bridge only; it does not provide operating power to luminaires or lighting drivers.
Commission and control from a browser
VenueVue Lx bridges include a built-in browser interface for commissioning, control and diagnostics without proprietary desktop software.
Depending on the model and installed firmware, supported functions include:
- Bus discovery and live device scanning
- Automated short-address assignment
- Device identification and naming
- Individual, group and broadcast control
- Group and scene configuration
- Device queries and diagnostics
- Fixture-replacement workflows
- DT8 tunable-white and colour control for supported control gear
Built for long-term operation
VenueVue Lx bridges are built for managed commercial environments, with monitoring and recovery features intended to reduce avoidable site visits:
- Hardware watchdog recovery
- Layered command and bus fault handling
- Persistent on-device logging
- Boot-reason classification
- Local and API-accessible health information
- Optional VenueVue CS health and incident reporting
- Planned-restart signalling
- Over-the-air firmware updates
- Configuration retention across supported updates
IEC 62386 compatibility
VenueVue Lx bridges are designed for IEC 62386 lighting systems and are compatible with supported DALI and DALI-2 certified control gear, including LED drivers and electronic ballasts.
Each lighting bus supports up to 64 addressed control-gear devices, subject to bus power, wiring, voltage drop and connected-device loading.
Advanced functions such as DT8 tunable-white or colour control depend on the capabilities of the connected control gear and installed bridge firmware.
Important installation information
- A compliant external bus power supply is required for each used IEC 62386 bus.
- Bus power supplies, luminaires, drivers, field wiring and PoE network equipment are not included unless expressly stated.
- Maximum device capacity depends on the complete electrical design of each bus.
- VenueVue Lx bridges must not be used as the sole control or monitoring mechanism for emergency lighting, life-safety systems or other statutory safety functions unless expressly documented and approved for that application.
