VenueVue Lx Lighting Bridge U3
Three lighting buses. Standalone control. Open integration.
The VenueVue Lx Lighting Bridge U3 is a three-bus PoE Ethernet lighting bridge for IEC 62386 systems. It can operate standalone through its built-in browser interface, connect directly to a third-party control system through REST or WebSocket APIs, or integrate with VenueVue CS.
Each of its three independent lighting buses supports up to 64 addressed control-gear devices, providing capacity for up to 192 addressed devices per bridge.
Use it standalone
Open the built-in web interface from a standard browser to commission, configure, control and diagnose the connected lighting system. No VenueVue CS server or proprietary desktop software is required.

Connect directly through REST or WebSocket
Third-party control systems can communicate directly with the Lx U3 using its built-in REST and WebSocket APIs.
The bridge translates supported API commands into IEC 62386 commands for the connected lighting drivers and electronic ballasts, while making available supported controller, bus and device status information.
Add VenueVue CS when required
VenueVue CS integration is optional. When connected, every lighting bus and addressed control-gear device can become a VenueVue CS control point for:
- Venue scenes
- Scheduled actions
- Operator control
- Automation workflows
- Remote diagnostics
- Fault and reboot reporting
This allows house lighting, stage wash, foyer, back-of-house and feature lighting to be controlled alongside video, audio and other venue systems.
One PoE connection for the bridge
A single IEEE 802.3af PoE Ethernet connection provides both network connectivity and power for the Lx U3 itself.
Each of the three IEC 62386 lighting buses requires separate field wiring and a compliant external bus power supply. The bridge does not supply operating power to luminaires, LED drivers or electronic ballasts.

Compatible lighting equipment
The VenueVue Lx Lighting Bridge U3 is designed for IEC 62386 systems and is compatible with supported DALI and DALI-2 certified control gear, including LED drivers and electronic ballasts.
Compatibility depends on the connected device type, manufacturer implementation, firmware version and supported IEC 62386 functions. Advanced DT8 functions require compatible control gear.
Installation requirements
- Each used lighting bus requires a compliant external bus power supply.
- PoE powers the bridge only and does not power connected luminaires or lighting drivers.
- Maximum capacity depends on bus current, device loading, cable length, conductor size and voltage drop.
- Installation must be completed by a suitably qualified person in accordance with the installation instructions.
- The Lx U3 must not be used as the sole control or monitoring mechanism for emergency lighting, life-safety systems or other statutory safety functions unless expressly documented and approved for that application.
